Students beginning in the 3rd grade can test for the GATE program.  Students are eligible to take the GATE test in two ways: parent request or teacher recommendation.  The gifted designation is determined by multiple measures: Otis-Lennon School Ability Test or Naglieri Nonverbal Test, State assessments, District benchmarks, teacher recommendations, and student grades.  Students who are identified as gifted receive additional enrichment opportunities during and outside of the school day.  Students are also invited to a Super Saturday event, where they work with others on solving higher level problems and project based learning.
